Table of Contents
1. TDI Registration and Annual State Inspection
Every commercial inflatable operator in Texas is required by law to register with the Texas Department of Insurance and pass annual safety inspections under the Texas Amusement Ride Safety Inspection and Insurance Act. Jump Around Party Rentals has maintained full TDI compliance for the entirety of our operation since 2008.
Verify Our Registration Yourself - Takes 30 Seconds
Go to tdi.texas.gov and search for Jump Around Party Rentals. We are listed. We encourage every customer to verify their rental company on this registry before booking. Many operators in the Austin Metropolitan Area are not listed - they are operating outside Texas law.
What the Annual TDI Inspection Covers
Every unit in the inventory is set up for a TDI-approved state inspector to examine in person - seams, stitching, anchor points, blower connections, zippers, netting, and structural integrity.
The inspector files a detailed report with TDI on every piece of equipment reviewed. Official inspection stickers are issued and kept available for any customer or venue that requests verification.
TDI lists Jump Around Party Rentals as a compliant operator. The state mandates one inspection per year. Our crew inspects equipment after every single rental - hundreds of additional checks per year beyond what the state requires.
The TDI registration requirement is not optional. Operators who skip it are operating illegally and typically also skip insurance. The 30-second check at tdi.texas.gov is the single most important step you can take before booking any inflatable rental company in Texas.
2. Insurance Coverage
Texas law requires commercial inflatable operators to carry liability insurance. Jump Around Party Rentals carries commercial liability insurance meeting and exceeding state minimums. Here is what our coverage includes and why the details matter to you as the event host.
Commercial Liability Insurance
Covers accidents and equipment issues at your event. If something goes wrong on our equipment, the liability sits with Jump Around Party Rentals - not with you as the property owner or event host. Certificate of Insurance is provided at no charge, same-day, naming your venue or organization as additional insured.
COI Available on Request - Same Day
Schools, churches, HOAs, corporate venues, and parks require a Certificate of Insurance before any vendor operates on their property. Jump Around Party Rentals provides COI at no charge. Provide your organization name and any specific coverage requirements at booking. Same-day turnaround is standard.
Why Uninsured Operators Are a Risk to You
If a child is injured on an uninsured inflatable at your event, the liability can fall on you as the property owner or event host. An uninsured operator has no coverage to make a claim against. This is the real cost of booking the cheaper option. Verify insurance before you book - not after something happens.
A Note on Policy Types - Ask Before You Book Any Company
There are two main types of liability insurance: occurrence-based and claims-made. An occurrence-based policy covers any incident that happens during your rental regardless of when a claim is filed - even if the company changes insurers after your event. A claims-made policy is cheaper for the operator but only covers claims reported while the policy is active. If the company changes carriers after your event, a claim filed later may not be covered. Ask any rental company which type of policy they carry before you book.
3. Commercial-Grade Equipment Standards
Every inflatable in the Jump Around Party Rentals inventory is commercial-grade equipment built from lead-free, fire-retardant vinyl rated for repeated public rental use. This is a significant difference from the consumer-grade residential inflatables sold at retail stores, which use lighter materials not intended for frequent or public use.
Lead-Free, Fire-Retardant Vinyl
Commercial-grade inflatables use heavier-duty vinyl with reinforced stitching at all seams and high-stress points. Consumer-grade units use lighter materials not designed for the wear of repeated public rental use.
Safety Netting at Entry Points
All units include mesh safety netting at entry and exit points and elevated areas. Safety rules are posted directly on every unit before delivery.
Proper Anchor Points at Every Corner
Commercial units include reinforced anchor points at every corner designed for ground stakes or sandbag attachment. Correct anchoring for your specific surface type is handled by the crew at delivery.
Inspected and Maintained After Every Rental
Every unit is inspected after every rental return. Repairs happen before the unit goes back out - not during your event. The state mandates one annual inspection. We conduct hundreds of additional checks per year.
4. Cleaning and Sanitization - Our 5-Step Process
Every bounce house, water slide, and inflatable is cleaned and sanitized after every single rental - no exceptions. After pickup, every unit is fully set up at our facility and run through our complete cleaning protocol before it goes to another event.
Debris Removal and Post-Rental Inspection
Every unit is visually examined for debris, foreign objects, and any damage that occurred during the rental period before cleaning begins.
Deep Cleaning
Commercial-grade cleaners are used to wash away all dirt, grime, grass stains, and residue from every surface. This is a thorough scrub - not a quick wipe-down.
Sanitization
A hospital-grade disinfectant is applied to all surfaces. The same class of disinfectant used in schools and healthcare facilities - not a consumer-grade spray.
Complete Drying and Storage
Every unit is completely dried before storage. We never fold and store wet equipment - proper drying prevents mold and mildew growth inside the inflatable.
Pre-Delivery Final Inspection
Before any unit leaves our facility for your event, it receives one final inspection to confirm it is in clean, rental-ready condition. This is the last checkpoint before it arrives at your event.
5. Staff Training and Background Checks
Inflatables look simple to set up. They are not. Correct anchoring for the specific surface type, proper inflation and stability checks, electrical safety, and equipment-specific rules all require hands-on training before any crew member delivers to a customer event. Every Jump Around Party Rentals delivery crew member goes through an on-the-job training program before they are cleared for customer-facing work.
Background-Checked Delivery Crews
Every member of our delivery and setup team is background-checked before working customer events.
Trained on Anchoring by Surface Type
Ground stakes for grass. Sandbags for concrete and asphalt. Specialized equipment for indoor gym floors. The crew arrives with the right anchoring equipment for your specific surface.
Professional Setup - Never Self-Setup
Jump Around Party Rentals never asks customers to set up their own equipment. Professional setup is included with every rental. A customer setting up their own inflatable - without training on anchoring and safety protocols - is a red flag for any rental company.
Owner-Operated Since 2008
Jump Around Party Rentals is William Gann's full-time business - not a side hustle. The difference matters: a full-time operator shows up on time, answers the phone, and has a reputation to protect in the community they serve every day.
6. Setup Standards by Surface Type
Grass - Preferred Surface
Ground stakes are driven at 45-degree angles for maximum hold. Grass provides the strongest anchoring and stays cooler than hard surfaces in summer sun. In drought conditions, water the lawn the night before to soften the soil for staking. Wind limit for staked setups: 20 mph.
Concrete or Asphalt
Sandbag anchoring is used on hard surfaces. Heavy-duty sandbags at every anchor point. Hard surfaces absorb significant heat in summer - shade tent placement over waiting areas is essential for any event in warm weather. Wind limit for sandbag setups: 15 mph. Mention concrete or asphalt surface at booking so the crew arrives prepared.
Indoor Setup
Specialized equipment keeps inflatables stable on gym floors and indoor surfaces. Minimum ceiling height is 20 feet for most units - confirm your indoor clearance at booking. Indoor events eliminate heat concerns entirely, making a warehouse or large venue an excellent option for summer events.
Setup Space Requirements - Confirm Before Delivery Day
Clear pathway with minimum 4-foot gate or door for equipment access
Flat or near-flat surface - no steep grades
Overhead clearance - no tree branches or power lines above the unit
GFCI-protected electrical outlet within 100 feet - no daisy-chaining extension cords
Water hose connection within 50 feet for water slides and dunk tanks
Generator rental available if power access at your location is limited
7. Weather Safety Policy
Wind is the single biggest safety risk for inflatable equipment. Central Texas weather - especially in spring and fall - can change fast. Here is our weather policy in plain terms.
| Condition | Our Policy |
|---|---|
| Wind over 15 mph (sandbag setup) | Not permitted. Equipment cannot operate safely on sandbag anchoring above 15 mph. |
| Wind over 20 mph (staked setup) | Remove all riders immediately and unplug the blower. |
| Lightning visible or thunder heard | Clear the inflatable immediately and shut down the blower. Wait 30 minutes after the last thunder before resuming. |
| Heavy rain with lightning or high wind | Clear all riders within 2 minutes. Deflate if lightning or high winds are present. |
| Temperature above 90F (dry inflatables) | Dry vinyl heats in direct sun and can cause burns. Recommend water slides or mandatory shade and break protocols. See the Central Texas heat guide. |
| Severe weather forecast before event | If we determine weather makes operation unsafe, we will work with you on rescheduling. Call (512) 294-2221 as soon as you see a concerning forecast. |
Our Guiding Principle
When in doubt, we shut it down. No party is worth an injured child. We ask every host to adopt the same standard - if conditions are uncertain, stop activity and get everyone clear. A few minutes of caution is always worth it.
8. Safety Rules for Every Rental
Safety rules are posted directly on every inflatable unit and provided to the event host at booking. These are the standard rules that apply to every rental. Specific units may have additional rules - those are communicated at booking and posted on the unit at delivery.

9. How to Verify Any Party Rental Company Before You Book
Whether you book with Jump Around Party Rentals or anyone else, use these questions before handing over a deposit. They identify the difference between a professional, compliant operator and an unlicensed risk. The full vetting guide is at how to choose a party rental company.
Are you TDI-registered? Verify at tdi.texas.gov. Takes 30 seconds. If they are not listed, stop there.
Can you provide a Certificate of Insurance? Ask to see it. No COI means no commercial insurance - the liability lands on you if something goes wrong.
Is your policy occurrence-based or claims-made? Occurrence-based covers incidents regardless of when a claim is filed. Claims-made coverage may lapse if the company changes insurers after your event.
How do you clean your equipment between rentals? They should describe a multi-step process including sanitization. A vague answer is a red flag.
Do your crew members set up the equipment, or do we do it ourselves? Professional setup is standard for legitimate operators. Customer self-setup is a red flag - and a safety risk.
What is your weather cancellation policy? Legitimate operators have clear, written policies. Vague or verbal-only policies create disputes.
Do they accept credit cards and provide a written confirmation? Cash-only, no contract is the most reliable predictor of an unregistered operator.
What is their Google review history? A legitimate operator serving the Greater Austin area should have a substantial review history. Fewer than 20 reviews after years of operation is a warning sign. Zero reviews is disqualifying.

10. Safety Standards FAQ
Is Jump Around Party Rentals insured and TDI-registered?
Yes. Jump Around Party Rentals carries commercial liability insurance meeting and exceeding Texas state minimums and has maintained full TDI registration since we began operations in 2008. You can verify our TDI status yourself at tdi.texas.gov. COI is available at no charge for any venue, school, church, or organization that requires vendor documentation. TDI inspection stickers are available on request.
How do you clean bounce houses between rentals?
Every unit goes through a 5-step process after every rental: debris removal and post-rental inspection, deep cleaning with commercial-grade cleaners, sanitization with a hospital-grade disinfectant, complete drying to prevent mold, and a pre-delivery final inspection before the unit goes to your event. No unit goes out without completing all five steps. This applies to every rental - not just school or medical events.
What happens if it is too windy on my event day?
Equipment on sandbag setups cannot operate in winds above 15 mph. Equipment staked into grass has a limit of 20 mph. If wind exceeds the limit during your event, remove all riders immediately and unplug the blower. Do not wait to see if the wind dies down - deflate first, assess later. If severe weather is forecast before your event, call (512) 294-2221 as early as possible to discuss options.
Can I get a COI for my venue or organization?
Yes. Jump Around Party Rentals provides COI at no charge for any venue, school, church, HOA, corporate campus, or organization that requires it. Provide your organization name and any specific coverage requirements at booking. Same-day turnaround is standard. TDI documentation and W-9 are also available on request.
Is adult supervision required during a bounce house rental?
Yes - always. Adult supervision is the single most important safety factor for any inflatable rental. The supervising adult should have clear, unobstructed sightlines into the entire unit, give it their undivided attention, enforce rules at the entrance, and manage entry and exit to prevent overcrowding. One dedicated adult per unit is the standard. For toddler sessions, one adult per 4 to 6 children is the appropriate ratio. See the toddler bounce house safety guide and the bounce house safety guide for full supervision standards.
